Have you downloaded music from the internet? Done file-sharing? C'mon, we know you did. Ever think about the future of file-sharing? Well, we all know it isn't going away. And this article casts doubt on whether or not downloading has hurt CD sales. Actually, the article states that CD sales rose at the same time downloading activity rose. So how do we negotiate this issue? The author suggests that a blanket licensing model, in which consumers are charged a 5 dollar licensing fee for file-sharing, could supplement the music industry rather than hinder it.
