Progressive Agenda for Election Reform 2006
From: Center for Policy Alternatives
How would we reform United States elections? How do we get to our vision of fair elections? The Center for Policy Alternatives sets an agenda for election reform in the United States. Election reform ensures that citizens, rather than special interests, hold power in the United States. Aimed primarily at legislators, the handbook offers strategies to make elections more fair, democratic, and transparent. Some of the strategies offered are expanding absentee and early voting systems, ballot initiative reforms, civic engagement in schools, holiday for election day, and strengthening voter protection systems.
