You've seen revolving doors before, haven't you? Well, this term doesn't just apply to your local neighborhood store, but also to your federal government? So how does it apply to our government? According to the report, private industries have placed corporate and lobby leaders within key posts in our government. Conversely, these leaders return to the corporate world once their stint in government is over. Why is this bad? Government begins to cater to business rather than community; some businesses benefit at the expense of other businesses; business informs policy that affects local communities, etc. In response to this problem, this report suggests a number of reforms which include the consolidation of ethics oversight entities in the executive branch and Congress, granting the consolidated powers greater monitoring and enforcement procedures, standardization of conflict-of-interest rules, and more.
