DC Rally for Immigrant and Worker Rights
Check out these short audio interviews from May Day in Washington DC. Featured interviews include immigrants, activists, filmmakers, and even some hip hop artists.
There's this new tool called Utterz that allows me to record on my cell phone. During the DC rallies for immigrant and worker rights, I had the chance to interview activists, filmmakers, politicians, and more.
Check out some of these interviews here:
- Nicola Wells, organizer with FIRM - Fair Immigration Reform Movement, with a shout-out and a welcome
- Eugene, student at Howard University highlights the intersections between communities of color and immigrant communities
- David Thurston, from the New Sanctuary Movement, on the faith community and immigration issues.
- Demonstrators Maria and Rosa, on why they are marching for immigrant and worker rights (in Spanish)
- Ruth, from Jobs with Justice, on helping to organize May Day and why she's marching for immigrant and worker rights.
- Eric, documentary filmmaker working in NJ, on organizing immigrant day laborers in NJ and why he's marching for immigrant and worker rights.
- Seth Dellinger, congressional candidate from the SWP, on why he's demonstrating on May 1st.
And listen to some hip hop in the end of these interviews
