Looking for a few good essays...

Want to contribute your visionary ideas to the Movement Vision Lab?

Anyone and everyone can submit ideas to the Idea Lab.  And anyone can comment on the ideas in the Idea Lab and the posts in the MVL Blog.  But if you want to contribute an article to the Movement Vision Lab Blog, you'll need to go through our submissions process.

Please note, the Movement Vision Lab Blog prioritizes submissions from community organizers, leaders and advocates from grassroots communities.

Typewriter KeysWe do take submissions from other folks as well, but we really like getting pieces from people who are doing on-the-ground work in local communities.  And we encourage submissions from people of color, women, queer activists, people with disabilities, those who do not speak English as a primary language, and others who are often under-represented in print and electronic media.

Each week, we'll announce the theme for this week's blog posts and next week's posts on the blog.  So check that out.  And if you would like to submit a piece for us to consider posting on that theme or on any other topic of interest, please email lab@communitychange.org with the following:

  • A max 700 word essay with your thoughts on the theme of the week.  Please know that, in addition to good writing, we're focused on essays that meet  two criteria:  (1) visionary --- not just telling us about the problem, but outlining a positive solution or alternative; and (2) provocative --- make an argument that will get the field of organizing and advocacy really thinking.
  • A short bio (1 paragraph) about yourself
  • A digital photograph of yourself (preferably a headshot)

Please only submit work that you hold the full rights to.  And please note that all submissions are subject to the Movement Vision Lab's Disclaimers and Permissions.  We receive a lot of submissions and will notify you if yours is selected.  We do not require exclusivity for submissions to the Movement Vision Lab Blog.

Any questions?  Email lab@communitychange.org.  Thank you for your interest!!
